Kasey Kahne Racing on twitter announced Thursday morning that former World of Outlaws Champion Daryn Pittman will step into Kasey Kahne’s #9 for the second time in 2022 as Kahne who runs full time with the World of Outlaws is still recovering from his accident at Volusia Speedway Park in February. Pittman filled in for Kahne earlier in the season at the Cotton Bowl Speedway finishing 22nd in the feature. Daryn will run friday at the Lawton Speedway where his last visit to that facility ended up in Victory lane with the Roth Motorsports #83 team and saturday at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway where he has also found victory lane in the past.

Kasey Kahne also released a statement thursday morning on twitter on his recovery progress saying quote “I’ve been working hard to get back to feeling 100% after my wreck in Volusia. It will be nice to be back at the track this weekend and support my friend Daryn Pittman in the No. 9”. Kahne during the season opening weekend at Volusia Speedway Park was involved in an accident during the B-Main causing a concussion. The former nascar star decided that in 2022 he would finally pursue his dream and run the full World of Outlaws tour chasing Rookie of the Year honors and his first World of Outlaws feature win.

We wish Pittman the best of look this weekend and also hope to see Kasey Kahne back in the seat of the #9 as soon as possible!!

“We’ll see you in the DIRT”
